From musicians to dancers, writers and stand-up poets, designers, fitness and health focused minds, and a whole lot more. We continue to bring you some of these individuals to highlight their journeys. This month we finish 2022 with a few more of those talents.

BENNY SINCLAIR

Coming off as one of Australia’s most versatile rappers is Benny Sinclair whose glory in diverse fields of life has turned him into the fans’ favourite.

Outright with his captivating flows, the prodigy has a lot of experience to play with as he spends time in the studio. Being a former boxing state champion, chef, trainer, entrepreneur, author, actor, model, and father, Sinclair has been through the rules of life and mastered the art of entertainment. His great rap career paints a clear picture of his ingenuity with several albums to his name over the years. “The Impeccable Word (2017)”, “Don’t Take It Personal (2018)”, and “Assumptions (2019)”, are all projects in Benny Sinclair’s existing discography.

With a go-getter, hardworking, and motivated persona, Sinclair is not even close to the end of his music career. The Australian rapper has recently announced his upcoming album titled “The Best” which will be his fourth and his words “the final album in the agreements series”. His musical style has always been about delivering bars that are motivating and inspiring. The rapper has influenced a lot of other rising artists on the scene and many have identified his sound to be an eclectic hip hop vibe. His last album released in 2019 peaked on the college charts in the USA at #21. This ten-track album was a fine work written by Benny Sinclair and done with utmost perfection. Every artist has a very unique perspective to offer the world through the techniques they employ to get their points across. Equally unique and interesting is Australia’s Chantal Bala – a defined choreographer, dancer, and model.

Representing black culture and black musical perspectives, Bala has been recognized for her tremendous styles of dance and has been featured in a couple of music videos over time. Her style of incorporating the impossibilities into her dance routine is one characteristic that has strongly stood out for her and pushed her to the top of her game.

For a couple of years, Australia’s music and dance scenes have been rapidly growing with names like Chantal Bala waving the flag high. The prodigy has shared her agility with several other dance crews and stormed a vast number of stages around Australia. It can be considered that dance; choreography for the sake of a form has become an excruciating piece of art in the modern world. Chantal Bala is one creative figure that has directly plunged her hands into the heart and soul of dance, ripping out the best strokes that the world has never witnessed. Her ingenuity can be described as beautiful, fierce, honest, and vivid.

LEE MASIYE

Lee Masiye (real name: Lerato Masiyane) has changed the face of dance in Melbourne. As a dancer, choreographer, teacher, and actress, the prodigy is devoted, focused, and committed to her art. Her creativity is something that can only come with the special ones that have the power to change the world around them while defying every rule in the system that calls for conformity.

Lee is recognized widely in Melbourne, Australia as one of the top dance performers and mentors. She has in the past opened for international Dancehall artist Beenie Man and also performed with some of Australia’s high-profile musicians such as; Sampa the Great and Baker Boy. Her specialities in Afro-fusion sound and dancehall can’t be contested.

As a cultural-oriented dancer, Lee has set out to share her craft with the diverse communities around Victoria. She has done this through teaching and extending a chance for other dancers to showcase their skills to the world. In her latest short dance film titled “Home,” Lee created a story through dance that featured other dancers portraying their lives during lockdown through dance. Filled with an Afro Dance and Dancehall vibe, the dancers share their experiences to help each other find hop, community, and the feeling of Home again in their everyday lives. This short film story is worth checking out.

With so much growth around the dance scene of Australia, Lee Masiye is a talent whose love and passion for dance will get you trapped in a glee of joy. BIOR AGUER

Born into war and uncertainty, Bior Aguer is an Australian-based South Sudanese poet, Journalist, author of the book “Journal of a Refugee,” and proprietor of AfricanAustralian AKA “A2”.

Having entered Australia at the age of four as a refugee, Bior Aguer’s story is one of courage, persistence and dedication. He came to Australia without his parents but with a new hope of a better life and future. Now 23 years, the gifted poet has become a voice for refugees, creating poems and organizing youths events to encourage other refugees about the potential that lies within them.

Just like someone who makes beautiful pictures and amazing songs with words that we normally use to speak, Bior’s artistry and gift come in a more engaging form, using his words wisely to tell his biography as well as changing the mindset of young lads living as refugees in all parts of the world.

In everything he does, Bior Aguer aims at creating a new life and a fresh start for those that may have lost hope. If a poet is a poet, he surely deep inside must have always known it. To him, Poetry is many things. It may never or always rhyme, but it will always artistically say something. His ease and fluidity are both reliant on the splendor that he creates.

Throughout his 23 years, the prodigy has worked harder than he believes to create something unique and isn’t comparative. He has performed at different events with different purposes, organized workshops in schools and colleges, and has become a transformation at the moment.
